About The Role
Lone-Star Roof Systems offers Shop Internships out of our College Station office for students looking to gain real, hands-on experience in the roofing industry. Working in our shop and warehouse, you'll support our operations team with material handling, inventory, and job site staging — getting a firsthand look at how a roofing company keeps its field crews moving.
This is a physical, get-your-hands-dirty kind of internship — ideal for someone interested in construction, supply chain, operations, or the trades who wants to learn the business from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Help receive, unload, and organize incoming roofing material deliveries — including shingles, underlayment, insulation, and accessories
- Assist with pulling and staging material orders for field crews ahead of scheduled jobs
- Help load trucks and trailers with the correct materials for each job site
- Support inventory tracking and help keep warehouse and yard stock organized and accurate
- Return and restock unused materials from completed jobs
- Keep the shop, warehouse, and yard clean and safe throughout the day
- Assist with general warehouse and yard tasks as directed
Required
- Hardworking, dependable, and ready to contribute from day one
- Physically capable of hands-on warehouse work, including regular heavy lifting — roofing materials are not light
- Comfortable working outdoors in Texas weather conditions
- Detail-oriented when it comes to pulling and staging orders — getting the right materials to the right job matters
- Ability to commit to a consistent schedule for the duration of the internship
- Ability to pass drug tests, as well as criminal and motor vehicle background checks
- Valid driver's license, must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred
- Currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade/vocational program — construction management, supply chain, business operations, or related fields are a great fit
- Prior warehouse, yard, or construction experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay
- Monday - Friday, day shift, flexible
