About The Role
Lone-Star Roof Systems is looking for a reliable, hard-working Shop Helper to support daily operations at our College Station office. Working out of our shop and warehouse, you'll play an essential role in keeping our roofing materials organized, our field crews properly supplied, and our yard running efficiently.
This role supports both the shop and field teams by ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are organized, available, and ready for each job. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on physical work and wants to get their start in the roofing industry.
Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and organize incoming roofing material deliveries — including shingles, underlayment, insulation, and accessories
- Pull and stage material orders for field crews based on upcoming job schedules
- Load trucks and trailers with the correct materials for each job site
- Maintain accurate inventory of roofing materials and supplies in the warehouse and yard
- Keep the shop, warehouse, and yard clean, safe, and well-organized at all times
- Return and restock unused materials from completed jobs
- Assist with general warehouse and yard tasks as directed by management
- Operation of forklift for loading and unloading job materials
Required
- Dependable, punctual, and eager to contribute to a team
- Physically capable of regular heavy lifting — roofing materials including shingle bundles and rolls of underlayment can be substantial
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail when pulling and staging material orders — accuracy matters
- Ability to pass drug tests, as well as criminal and motor vehicle background checks
- Valid driver's license, must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred
- Prior warehouse, yard, or construction supply experience
- Forklift certification
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
Compensation & Benefits
- $12 - $16 per hour based on experience
- Monday - Friday, 8 hour day shift (some weekends)
- Eligible for overtime pay
