About The Role
Lone-Star Roof Systems is seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator to support our sales and production teams. In this role, you'll be responsible for evaluating commercial roofing projects, preparing accurate and competitive bids, and serving as a trusted resource for our clients throughout the estimating process.
This role plays a key part in helping clients make informed decisions by ensuring proposals are clear, complete, and aligned with their needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed, professional proposals and bid packages for commercial roofing projects
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, scope documents, and site conditions
- Collaborate with production and commercial sales teams to ensure estimates reflect real-world costs and timelines and align with project scope and company standards
- Track bids, follow up on outstanding proposals, and maintain accurate records in CRM software
- Stay current on material costs, industry standards, and local market conditions
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing
Required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Strong math, analytical, and written communication skills
- Tech-proficient and adaptable — able to learn and consistently use multiple platforms and apps on laptop and mobile, including CRM software, mobile inspection and photo tools, proposal platforms, and shared document and spreadsheet systems
- Ability to pass drug tests, as well as criminal and motor vehicle background checks
Preferred
- 2+ years of experience in commercial roofing estimating or a closely related construction estimating role
- Solid understanding of commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal, coatings, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and project specifications
